Approach G8

The Approach G8 is Garmin’s most feature packed handheld GPS unit with a 3-inch capacitive touch display and precise distances for over 40,000 golf courses around the world.  The unit can automatically update courses through wi-fi and there are no fees or subscriptions for updates.

The Approach G8 offers numerous areas of information to better help you manage your game.  Each course has an aerial overview of the hole which shows distances to the front, middle and back of the green as well as distances to various hazards on the hole.  Colourful layup arcs at 100, 150, 200 and even 250 help you to decide exactly what club to hit if you are laying up.

For those who want to be more technical with their game, the Approach G8 has features to excite.  PlaysLike distance gives distances to targets which are adjusted for uphill or downhill shots.  Club Advice can be used to remember how far you hit each club and then makes recommendations on what club to hit based on the shot distance.  These features can be turned off so that the unit is legal in a club competition.

Pin Pointer lets you know which way it is to the green no matter how deep you are in the woods.  Big number mode increases the font size on the Approach G8 for front, center and back of green distances for those golfers who have slight eyesight issues.

A digital scorecard and stat tracking options allow you to analyse your game once you have finished your round through Garmin Connect.  Garmin Connect is an online golf community which allows you to compare your current round to prevous rounds and track improvements in your handicap for each course you play.
